Description aaron 2001-08-15 16:07:35 UTC
The query page takes about 20-30 seconds to render in Mozilla, and is too
complex for the average user to understand/use anyway.

We should have:

a) a simple query page with just a couple fields. Ideally,
a single field to match "all words in Description or Summary"
and maybe one selector to choose the application; all other fields could
submit as default or not at all.

b) Simplification or slimming of the standard query page; maybe it could be
split into two pages, or something (Choose app. Now query.)
But it just takes forever to load/render with such a complex form layout
right now.

Marking this as an enhancement. I'm not sure what it would take to
get a bug helper form into bugzilla.gnome.org.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2001-08-28 21:13:25 UTC
The forever to render part is fixed by bug 59495.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2001-08-28 21:13:56 UTC
And a simplified search would be available via an upgrade to bugzilla
2.14. :/
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2001-08-29 15:57:13 UTC
Re-assigning all of martin's bugzilla bugs to the bugmaster@gnome.org mailing
list, as per discussion in #bugs.
Comment 5 Luis Villa 2001-08-31 19:42:31 UTC
Re-titling.
Comment 6 David Fallon 2002-07-03 19:57:25 UTC
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154782 is the mozilla bug
we should be tracking for this one, although since it's a simple fix,
I'll probably do it for our upgrade.
Comment 7 Luis Villa 2004-03-25 13:29:11 UTC
I've asked James to update and commit the patch in 154872 to bugzilla.gnome.org.
Comment 8 Luis Villa 2004-03-25 16:57:43 UTC
Done. Closing. Still sort of ugly, but we can work on that.
