GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 590003
Keeping the session up
Last modified: 2014-03-16 16:40:24 UTC
Please describe the problem: Epiphany based on webkit seems to not keepa session fo some reason Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to a hotspot with web-based authentication 2. Log in 3. Wait Actual results: The screen you have to keep open turns to be white after some time. Also after some time expiration of log-in happens. T Expected results: To keep the session Does this happen every time? Yes (on webkit - on xulrunner it was ok) Other information:
You mean you want epiphany to inhibit screen lock when there's a captive portal? Why would you ever want that? It would be a security issue... Anyhow, can this be reproduced with 3.12?
(Sight - my English was so bad I have troubles understanding what I meant) No - I'm sure I didn't meant to inhibit lock screen (indeed - why would I ever wanted to do that). I had some troubles with using hotspots which required web-based authentication as after some time the session timed out on epiphany with webkit while on xulrunner it was still kept. I believe it might have been a problem with automatic refreshes (but after nearly 5 years I simply don't remember) which are required to use those hostspots. I haven't used hotspot with such authentication mechanism for some time now.
Ah, well I guess it should be considered part of the "deal with captive portals" ponies-on-rainbow idea then :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 670393 ***
