Description Raymond Kenneth A. Kasilag 2009-07-18 12:57:33 UTC
I run Vista SP2 on a Core 2 Duo 1.5 GHz machine, and after I installed the update KB961371, GIMP started to crash at the Color Selection tools. A while later, GIMP simply refuses to start. It's like this:

"Looking for Data Files
<insert items being loaded>

then...
Starting Extensions
then a second later...
gimp-2.6.exe has stopped working

Windows is trying to find a solution to the problem...."

As of now I'm falling back to Photoshop 7(Only PS version I have a license for), while waiting for the bugfix.

NOTE: Tested on a x86 install of Vista Home Premium on a x86-64 processor.

We've had loads of duplicates for this issue, thanks for the hint of KB961371, that might enable someone that is on Windows to finally solve this problem.
