GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 588025
all cells blank after upgrade
Last modified: 2009-07-24 23:42:36 UTC
Please describe the problem: I upgraded several libs today and gnumeric stopped working properly. The GUI maps, borders etc., show, but all the cells appear empty. They aren't (if I click on one I see the value in the editing window at the top). Here're the list of possible culprits: * freedesktop/pixman: bump version to 0.15.14 * platform/gtk+: bump version to 2.17.3 * platform/glib: bump version to 2.21.3 I did rebuild gnumeric (version 1.9.9) from scratch, but that didn't help. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
What happens if you change the font used for those cells?
I am changing the severity since there is nothing critical about this bug: you do not appear to loose any data. gtk+ 1.17.3 is a development release of gtk that is a few hours old and, if gtk's track record is any indication, of course will break gnumeric.
Perhaps file this against gtk+
You may be right about gtk+ and I'll file a bug there too. I tried changing the fonts, but that didn't change anything.
Same thing here, all cells blank, i can see only the letters of columns. I've downgraded gtk from 2.17.4 to 2.17.1 and it works.
We are also seeing this in Xubuntu Karmic Koala developer version using Gnumeric 1.9.9. Karmic will become Xubuntu 9.10 when released. It does appear that the data does not display. When an existing gnumeric spreadsheet is opened, the formatting appears present. Row heights, column widths, colors, merged cells, etc are correct. The data exists, but does not display.
See bug 588076.
This has been fixed in gtk. So it should work wit hthe next release of gtk.
