GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 587825
Merge "Screensaver" into "Appearance" (Make it a tab)
Last modified: 2011-03-17 13:51:25 UTC
In System->Preferences->Appearance we can change just about everything (Wallpaper,Fonts,Theme) EXCEPT screensaver. Merging "Screensaver" into "Appearance" will keep things tidier and lessen the menu entries in Preferences. Also, most new users coming from Windows, would expect to find them all in the same window. The GUIs of Appearance and Screensaver have almost the same size by default, so it should be easy to convert Screensaver into an Appearance tab. Other information: I also filed it in Ubuntu "One Hundred Papercuts" [Bug #395490] and they told me I should file it here, upstream.

Selecting the screensaver to run is not available as an option any more. We default to a nice black screen that saves energy.
