GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 587406
attaching a 6mb pdf file causes evolution to choke taking more than 600MB of memory, while composing an e-mail
Last modified: 2013-09-13 01:05:17 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1) I have a 6mb pdf file which consists of scanned pages. 2) I try to attach it to an e-mail in evolution 3) evolution becomes unresponsive and top shows it's taking up to 600mb and growing. After some time I manage to kill it from a terminal, the system trashing for too much swap. The same does not happen with 6mb of random data (courtesy of /dev/urandom). I am not going to attach the file here since it is copyrighted material, but I can surely provide the file privately to whoever needs it for debugging purposes. I will also see if I can reproduce with other scanned documents. Stack trace: Other information:
