This patch does pretty the same ( just alle in one ) what has happened in evolution, just for eds.

It bumps the required version of automake to 1.9, fixes whitespace in configure.ac and rearranges the initialization.

It deletes the automake 1.9 hack, too.

Further fixes coming, will add depend on this.
