Description Facundo Batista 2009-06-23 14:38:04 UTC
When switching to some themes, the already opened windows are updated, and with some themes it doesn't happen.

1. Select "Simple" theme in the preferences.
2. Open a chat window.
3. Select "Blue" theme in the preferences, the opened window changes its theme
4. Select "Classic" theme in the preferences, the opened window does NOT change its theme

Zdra pointed out to me in IRC that the issue is that it's changing the layout, not just the colors.

But for the user, they're just themes, so they should behave consistently.

Thank you!!

This also applies to Adium themes. To reapply a theme, we'd have to replay the conversation (so that the chat window contains the same text).

I'm wondering if we could keep in memory a list of all received EmpathyMessage objects, so when changing the theme we can display them all again... Not sure if that's a big wast of memory.

We could also take message from stored logs, but then if we disable loggin, the window would be cleared when changing theme.

It is about chat themes, changing the component.

Is this a dup of #587469 ?
