GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 586640
totem startup volume is 35%
Last modified: 2009-09-15 13:37:00 UTC
When starting totem the volume is always set to 35% It should be set to the last used value (or at least resetted to 100%). (This has nothing to do with alsamixer) Steps to reproduce: - open totem - see the totem icon which tells that the volume is 35% - move the volume to 100% - close totem - open totem again - see that the volume is again at 35%
Not it is 0%!
Now this changed to 50%, in version 2.27.2-0ubuntu3
Are you using PulseAudio? If you are, has it been upgraded recently? From what version to what version?
I'm using ubuntu karmic packages. I will tell you the exact versions when I reboot.
I just did a clean karmic install from a livecd of yesterday. The problem is still there. These are the package versions: libpulse-browse0 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 libpulse-mainloop-glib0 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 libpulse0 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-esound-compat 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-module-bluetooth 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-module-gconf 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-module-udev 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-module-x11 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 pulseaudio-utils 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu1 I also see that the totem volume slider does not correspond to the totem volume present in gnome sound preferences, tab applications
