Description Alexander 2009-06-21 17:50:21 UTC
Typographers quotation mark: ´
Typewriters quotation mark: '

In Linux everything is fine, but in Windows it's giving the wrong ones. The typographers quotation marks are not recognized in programming languages.

In my windows that works ok, so I can imagin it is some kind of bug of gdk with the keyboard layout. Could you provide more information about your windows, keyboard layout, etc?
Comment 2 Alexander 2009-06-21 19:31:31 UTC
This occurs in Windows 7, with the language set to 'Dutch' and the keyboard to 'United States-International'.

It only outputs the 'typographers quotation marks' in Gedit. Notepad, Wordpad etc work fine. If I copy the quotation marks from these programs to Gedit I get the correct ones.

All other settings are pretty standard I think.

Could this be marked just as a duplicate of bug #569581? That contains lots of discussion about the US International keyboard and how GTK+ is "too clever" with it.
