Description David Siegel 2009-06-19 14:21:33 UTC
In Mac OS, Windows, KDE, and other desktop operating systems/environments, clicking a file to select it, and then clicking once more on the selected file will enter "rename file" mode. Nautilus doesn't do this, confounding new users' first attempts to rename files. Nautilus should meet user expectations by facilitating this common rename strategy.

We've discussed this at length, multiple times on multiple lists, and every time the same conclusion has been reached, that we NOTABUG'd this for a reason (namely bugs like 83552).

See bug 44772.
