Description Rick Niles 2009-06-18 20:43:54 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hardware:
 * Laptop
 * External monitor on screen :1
 * USB keyboard and mouse

If I only use the external monitor (which is on X screen :1) with the external mouse and keyboard, the screensaver will activate after the time out independent of how much I'm typing or using the mouse. That is, if the time out is set to five minute, the screen saver will come on in five minutes if I never type in X screen 0 AND not use the laptop keyboard or touchpad.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Get a laptop with an external monitor, keyboard and mouse
2. Make the external monitor screen 1
3. Only use the external mouse and keyboard on screen 1.

Actual results:
Screensaver will activate after time out indepedent of how much activity happens on screen 1.

Expected results:
Screen saver should not sleep while any activity is happening on any screen or any input device

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Should be fixed by using IDLE.
