GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 586104
Cannot call: Remote user is unreachable
Last modified: 2009-06-17 11:18:45 UTC
Please describe the problem: Using debian sid, I recently made the upgrade from ekiga 2 to ekiga 3.2.x. I use only a pc-to-phone provider (annatel, french). I could receive and make calls before the upgrade. Now however, I cannot make any calls anymore (note: I did not change the settings at all). When making a call, after about 20 seconds waiting, the attempted call shuts down, and the bottom bar reads "Remote user is unreachable". Steps to reproduce: 1. Type in the number 2. click the green phone Actual results: The attempted call shuts down, and the bottom bar reads "Remote user is unreachable". Expected results: The call should be made Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
Created attachment 136811 [details] output of ekiga -d 4
Just disable codecs you don't need and it will work. The first INVITE reaches the destination. The second one does not. Probably because it contains authentication credentials and is just too big.
Indeed, that solved the problem. Thanks a lot.
Ok, thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 341518 ***
