i have a lot of compilations in my music library. so browsing through the "artist"-pane is sometimes a little tiresome because there are a lot of artists and bands with only one song. i guess in my case more than 75% of the artists in the library have only one song.

i think it would be nice if there was an option to hide artists from the library browser if they have only one song. maybe this could be done by a plugin which adds a button to the toolbar or an entry to the "view"-menu or maybe implement it as an additional attribute to the search ("find only artists/albums with more than x songs")

honestly, i never feel the the urge to listen to a song by Abdurehim Heyit when i see his name, however i quite enjoy the compilation "Music Furthest from the Sea" which features a song by the aforementioned artist.

Fixing bug #318579 would fix your bug in a much nicer way wouldn't it?
Comment 3 Rupert Angermeier 2009-06-13 07:38:40 UTC
indeed it would. if artists which are grouped to an album-artist as described in #318579 disappear from the artist-list this would provide what i wanted.
