What were you doing when the application crashed? I falsly updated pannel aplets Distribution: openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64) Gnome Release: 2.24.1 2009-03-09 (SUSE) BugBuddy Version: 2.24.1 System: Linux 2.6.27.21-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-03-31 14:50:44 +0200 x86_64 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 10502000 Selinux: No Accessibility: Disabled GTK+ Theme: Inverted Icon Theme: Gilouche Memory status: size: 321466368 vsize: 321466368 resident: 13316096 share: 9678848 rss: 13316096 rss_rlim: 18446744073709551615 CPU usage: start_time: 1244277807 rtime: 8 utime: 6 stime: 2 cutime:0 cstime: 0 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 100 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/lib64/stickynotes_applet' [?1034h[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] 0x00007f7d68c22575 in waitpid () from /lib64/libpthread.so.0

This is a very curious crash. Assuming the applet version is 2.24.1 (i.e. it matches the GNOME version) then the crash occurs at a line which differs from the previous line only in a constant. i.e. everything that could cause a crash at line 522 should have caused a crash at line 521. In fact, looking at the local variables, the code shouldn't even have been executed. Two questions: 1) can you check exactly what version of the applet you have? right click on the applet and select "about". 2) Can you explain in more detail what you mean by "I falsely updated panel applets"? Thanks
Hi!! My version of applet is Exactly 2.24.1 Explaining further my words "I falsely updated panel applets": - I am not a native englisch speaker, so it could be simply fault in my expression,i have tried to update my applet with some new applets (didnt look at the version because of schortage of time) so i have found this one file on the net an executet is as root and then it installed and applets crashed. - Allso i am now missing volume icon in the pannel, so i must use Volume control: HDA Intel (Alsa mixer) to adjust sond volume. Other applets seems to work just fine. I am not advanced user, so if i can help with some repport of instalation or crash repport then you can maybe guide me, how to find it on my system and i can attach it to you. Greetings!!!
there is a similar crash on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/422110 "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. stickynote_set_color (note=0x826c288, color_str=0x0, font_color_str=0x0, save=1) at stickynotes.c:515"
On the Ubuntu report we're having more than 15 duplicates of the same bug, most of users state that they were just adding the applet to the panel.
