Karaoke Modea (like rockbox) should be added, which does a pretty good job of removing vocals from songs. It's an amazing thing to show off, and to be able to display lyrics too, would be an incredible addition.

Just created a basic Karaoke Extension today: http://gitorious.org/banshee-community-extensions/banshee-community-extensions/commit/9b9a9da7d550e674bf083b2416ec9b5d56763e5a

Going to work on this a bit more to add and on/off button etc, maybe even include the lyrics somehow, haven't looked at that yet...

GUI added, so can anyone point me to an actual .ogg file with embedded lyrics?

How to mark the bug upstream as resolved?

Great job Frank !

As you noted, the Karaoke extension is now available in the banshee-community-extensions git repository, in the master branch, and it will be included in the next release.

So I'm marking this as fixed. Please file any bugs or enhancements (like the lyrics thing) related to extension in separate bugs.
