Description krzysztof pijarski 2009-06-03 17:32:49 UTC
Please describe the problem:
From time to time the database portions of the mail folders get corrupt and I cannot empty my trash any longer.
Both solutionS I found on the forums and on launchpad, i.e. deleting folders.db IN ~/.evolution or deleting the respective .index .ev-summary and .cmeta files MAKES ALL MY METADATA GO AWAY. So this is what I've been tagging my mails for? But otherwise I end up with a full trashcan that I cannot empty.
This is a major nuisance; because of this recurring problem the whole possibility to tag e-mails becomes worthless (in the last 6 months I already twice lost all my tags, and I just can't re-tag 30000 mails!)
Please have a look at this thread in launchpad - the linux forums are full of similar threads: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/64762

Thank you for having a look at this issue!

Steps to reproduce:
1. I don't know what causes the mail folder data to become corrupt
2.
3.

Does this happen every time?
