Description Daniel Wiberg 2009-06-03 08:13:45 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I try to connect to a VPN where you first authenticate with you username and password, and then receive an SMS with a second One Time Password it doesn't seem to work, it just fails, the only message I can find in the log is: "VPN Plugin Failed: 1".

When connecting with vpnc from the command line it asks for the second password:
"Enter OTP:"

Steps to reproduce:
Connect to a VPN that requires a One Time Password in addition to the normal user password and group password.

Actual results:
The VPN connection fails.

Expected results:
A prompt for the One Time Password like text mode vpnc.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Also tested with Karmic and Network-manager 0.7.1

Will be possible with a long-coming VPN service refactor to allow not just one-shot auth.
Comment 2 Dan Williams 2013-08-12 16:42:46 UTC
Support for interactive passwords was added upstream recently, but unfortunately vpnc itself needs some patches to support this when controlled by an external process.
