Another test-case with redirects and ssl:
In order to access my university's study-information portal I usually type http://ois.ut.ee and redirects take me to the right place.

With webkit-epiphany I'm getting:

has nothing to do with redirects. it won't work if you try to access the https URL directly either. More gnutls-vs-weird-SSL-implementations fun
