GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 582583
Page margins are not correct when printed
Last modified: 2009-05-15 04:36:02 UTC
Please describe the problem: When using Gnumeric 1.9.1 on WinXP SP3 to print the left and right margins are larger than they should be. Printing with other applications such as openoffice to the same printer does not have this problem. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set the page margins to 10mm on all sides and 0 for header/footer. 2. Print a spreadsheet Actual results: The left and top margins are about 15mm instead of the 10mm specifed in the page setup. Expected results: The left and top margins should be 10mm. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Hi, thanks for the bug report. Would you please explain in detail what you are measuring on the print out and perhaps you could also include a screen shot of the "Page" and "Sheet" tabs of the pagesetup dialog showing the settings for your test file? You may want to switch on the printing of gridlines before you are measuring if you haven't done that already since there is the cell margin that will otherwise be added to the page margin. Thanks
Looking at some known issues of printing on Windows, what you are seeing is probably right and this may in fact be bug 381371 in gtk, the libraries we are using. It would still be nice if you would answer the questions from comment #1.
This should be the genral bug in the library. It doesn't seem serious enough to warrant us patching the library before including it in the windows binary. It should really be fixed properly in gtk. The good news is that that bug report (bug 381371) has in fact seen some discussion lately after having sat arund for 2.5 years. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 381371 ***
