Description r 2009-05-11 10:58:02 UTC
Calc allows the opening of documents directly from a url via the url loadbar; it is like the address bar in a web browser. So, in calc I can type http://www.urltospreadsheet.document.xls and calc will load it. (Quicker and saves documents being saved to the local disk)

Is this really a good use of precious toolbar space? It seems more like an
admission that the file chooser stinks.
Comment 3 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-07-04 21:30:03 UTC
Why don't we add another toolbar. Those users who very frequently access web pages can enable that toolbar (and if they hardly ever write their own sheets, disable the format toolbar), and users who rarely acccess sheets off the web can disable it.

THis is what OOcalc is doing. (OOcalc's selection of 18 different toolbars seems like overkill though.)
