GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 582058
Implement date and time dropdown
Last modified: 2010-12-04 04:13:13 UTC
In order to change time settings in gnome-shell you can't simply click on the clock applet and change things (preferences, time) like with the normal gnome-panel applet. You have to use the gnome-control-center. You might want to change this since it's a little bit annoying to waste time accessing the time options in the control-center. You might want to fix bug 580945 first! Bug 580945 – Clock doesn't respect user's locale Thanks!

hm I can't find where in the Control-center I can set the clock to display the current date (in addition to the day) nor ask to set the clock on 24h rather than 12. Am I missing something ? Or is it just not yet implemented ? Thanks

Right, our plan is to add something like: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/Whiteboards/DateNTime "Date and Time Settings" should launch the appropriate System Settings panel.

The code we are working on in bug 632109 does this.
