Description Colin Sherratt 2009-05-07 01:35:03 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Rhythmbox will generate a stack of error messages when trying to copy songs to the device if the device is read only.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have a iPod mounted as read only.
2. Attempt to copy multiple songs from your library to the device.

Actual results:
Rhythmbox will generate an error message for each file that it tried to load onto the device. The error messages will be created regardless of the users interaction. This will cause a large stack of error messages to be generated that at worst can cause Gnome to become unusably slow.

Expected results:
Rhythmbox should either detect that the device is read only and present one error dialog to the user telling them the file system is read only. Rythembox could also use one error dialog for a number of errors to avoid the stacking problem.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.
