Description Sam Morris 2009-05-05 11:55:58 UTC
When playing the file at http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-migshootdown.wav in totem, if the audio is distorted if totem's volume control is not set to 100%.

The audio gets more distorted as the volume control is decreased further.

This appears to be a bug in totem rather than xine-lib--the audio is not distorted when using gxine.

Totem uses xine-lib's code to do the volume control. gxine probably uses the hardware volume instead.

Disable the hardware mixer in gxine (or xine)'s config (the key is audio.alsa_hw_mixer, needs to be set to 0), and try again.

I don't see how Totem itself could be causing this problem here.

Looks like this was already reported some time ago. I'll send it Xine's way.
