Description Matthew 2009-05-04 17:44:02 UTC
Right now, in menu bars, the shortcut key is underlined. This behavior should be disable-able. Ideally, the underlines should only appear when the user's shortcut modifier key (such as alt) is pressed. This gives windows a much cleaner feel. It is already present in Mac OS X--not that GNOME should copy Mac, I'm just giving an example to show that it is reasonable.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any gtk application with a menu bar.

What should happen:
There should be an option (not necessarily enabled by default) to either
A. Always hide shortcut underlines, or
B. Only show shortcut underlines when user's shortcut modifier key is pressed (I don't know how difficult this would be to implement).

What happens:
Neither such option is present.
