GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579697
evolution calendar asks for the google password when offline
Last modified: 2017-05-17 13:50:49 UTC
1) Evolution should not consider an authentication failure, if it cannot reach the calendar server at all. 2) Further, evolution should not try to connect to non-local calendars when offline. Other information: I am using Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope). Always, when I start the evolution calendar application and I am not connected to the Internet at that time, evolution will ask me for my google password to access the google calendar. (When I am connected to the Internet, evolution will not ask for the password, but will connect to the calendar.)
google calendar doesn't support offline functionality afair bug 508501
Well, ok. This just means that I cannot use the google calendar when offline. The Problem is that evolution keeps asking me for the password.
I am also using a Google Calendar and am in offline mode sometimes, but do not get any error messages. If you have time, could you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 3.2.2 or 3.0.3 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field and provide information about your distribution? Thanks a lot.
I'm closing this as obsolete. Feel free to reopen in case you can reproduce with 3.24.x or any later version. Thanks in advance.
