GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579230
easy crossfading transition of overlapping clips
Last modified: 2010-09-09 19:23:41 UTC
I would like to be able to have clips that overlap on a same layer to be crossfaded. Actually, this would simply mark their overlapping zone as a transition, and put crossfade as the default transition. Personnally, I do not need any other kind of transition than the crossfade. P.s.: this might make for a cool demo at LGM, if time allows this to be implemented :)
Created attachment 132801 [details] demonstration This is how vegas does it.
If we are to have transitions by the next release, we need this (and the manual depends on it too).

Following discussions with Brandon, this is something he will start working on now. I consider this one to be a crucial feature for the next release, so setting the target milestone. Star/heart/poney-shaped wipe transitions are a different thing entirely which will be for later as a separate issue.
Fancy transitions are now a separate bug, Bug #609353. They are not a usability issue because they depend on the work being done right here.
Bumping to next milestone :(
