GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579208
Doesn't restore all tabs / windows on next session
Last modified: 2009-09-03 10:49:49 UTC
Please describe the problem: This was reported at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/361989: "System->Preferences->Startup Applications->Options -> "Automatically remember running applications when logging out" does not work correctly, forgetting about some or all apps. For example, I started two Gnome terminals (via Applications->Accessories->Terminal) and then logged out and logged back in. Only one terminal was restored. Expected behavior: The terminal windows would both be restored." Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable session saving 2. Open several gnome-terminal windows (or tabs) 3. Exit session 4. Start new session Actual results: Only a single gnome-terminal window with one tab opens on the next session Expected results: The tabs / windows should be restored Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: This is with gnome-session 2.26.0 patched with the changes in bug #552387 to make session saving work. gnome-terminal is launched with the correct --sm-client-state-file
Created attachment 132786 [details] Desktop file in ~/.config/gnome-session/saved-session
Created attachment 132787 [details] State file
The state file I attached was from a session with 1 window containing a single tab, and 1 window containing 2 tabs open, at the point I logged out. The state file seems to correctly show this, but this is not restored correctly.
Which g-t version was this with? Unless it was 2.26.1, this bug is a dup of bug 575308.
It's with 2.26.0
