Description Albert Vilella 2009-04-16 17:05:03 UTC
I would like to request as a feature the possibility to have a vertical
toolbar instead of the horizontal toolbar on top of the window.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think we will differ from other GNOME apps in near future

Patch for vertical toolbar in Fullscreen

For personal use, I made an ugly hack in order to have a vertical toolbar in Fullscreen mode.
This patch apply for evince version 2.32.0
I post it here in case someone is still interested.
Comment 3 Albert Vilella 2011-08-17 09:12:15 UTC
Wicked! Can this be merged to the main branch? I think it's a great addition.

Patch for vertical toolbar in Fullscreen, on the left side

I put a new patch with the toolbar on the left side.
I don't think that it will be ever merged to master because it is a ugly hack and it will be hard to maintain ... So may be, if I have time, I can try to make a parallel version with the main branch of evince. For now, it will work with version 2.32 (which is the default version for Opensuse 11.4)
Comment 5 Albert Vilella 2011-08-17 09:42:15 UTC
I see. I +1'd this feature, so whoever is in charge, please consider it upstream, even if the patch needs cleaning up for merging.
