Description Jeff Oliver 2009-04-14 06:27:22 UTC
It would be nice if the first instance of a meld command would open up a new instance of the application, and immediately following, the diff view screen (either the file diff, or dir diff).

On subsequent calls to the meld app, I would like to have the original instance of the app simply open a new tab with the new diff as opposed to open a new instance of the application itself.

I find myself, with the VCS tools I use, diff'ing various revisions of a file. Meld is integrated with the VCS tool as a command line tool, and new diffs currently open up many instances of meld, which can be difficult to navigate.

I'd like to see a config item added to change the default behavior of the tool, if I so choose, and a command line flag that can change the behavior on the fly...something like meld --new file1 file2 would open a new instance.
