Description Mark Christopher 2009-04-13 22:05:10 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
I was doing colour correction on about a dozen images.
1. Open up image. Select Colours->Curves menu tool, do colour correction, and Save_As to save the corrected image. Close the image.
2. Drag another image on GIMP main window. Selected tool is the one from Colours->Curves. Clicking on image opens up Colour Curves dialog. Do colour correction, and Save As and close the image.
3. Same as step 2 except clicking on the image with the Colour Curves tool crashes GIMP. This crash usually happened like this, in some cases it took a few more images, not sure if it was because I may have used the healing brush on some images. I got the following from the Microsoft dialog that say GIMP has stopped working.

Since GIMP 2.6.6 is available, I d/l it and installed it. The above recipe for crashing GIMP 2.6.4 didn't crash GIMP immediately, however it DID crash when I clicked the close box on the main GIMP window. THis was the 2.6.6. crash from the Windows "GIMP has stopped working" dialog:

I just had another crash with GIMP 2.6.6. I did colour correction with Colours->Curves. Did Undo/redo (^Z, ^Y) a couple of times to compare, then did Save As, changed the file name, used the down arrow key to improve the JPEG quality to 90, then hit return to Save/close the dialog, then GIMP crashed on me. I checked and the new jpg file was created. This was the message from Windows:

Please note the steps mentioned above re: the crash for GIMP 2.6.6 is 100% repeatable for me. Here's another one today:

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:	APPCRASH
  Application Name:	gimp-2.6.exe
  Application Version:	0.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp:	49c4317f
  Fault Module Name:	ntdll.dll

  Additional Information 3:	fd00

Hmmm, 2.6.4 was more stable for me than 2.6.6.
