it seems gnome-panel-2.26 makes use of headers only available in >=gnome-desktop-2.24, configure.in should probably reflect that.

So current configure.in says
LIBGNOME_DESKTOP_REQUIRED=2.11.1
and this should be bumped to 2.24.0?

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
