Steps to reproduce:
This was reported at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/357875:

Crash appeared after reactivating indexing."

Chris, have you tried with newer versions of tracker, either 0.7 or 0.6.x branches?

Very likely the problem was solved, but it would be good if you try.
Comment 2 Jürg Billeter 2010-03-04 10:58:50 UTC
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
Comment 3 Martyn Russell 2010-05-17 13:35:13 UTC
Moving "Daemon" component bugs to "General" since "Daemon" refers to the old 0.6 architecture

Hi,

I can hit this crasher sometimes(rare occurence) with Ubuntu12.10 Quantal developer version:

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/

I have gathered all launchpad bugs to my new report at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/1031753

where automatically gathered informations of the the new software/enviroment is stored.

Anyway I attach here the new stacktrace.

The version of tracer is: tracker-miner-fs 0.14.1-1ubuntu2

The crasher keeps the same with:

tracker-miner-fs crashed with SIGSEGV in g_str_hash()

Can someone do an reopening.

I copy also the head of the launchpad report here:

On starting the external program catoscape 2.8.3 from command line with this crash happends.

You can get cytoscape from:

chianti.ucsd.edu/Cyto-2_8_3/cytoscape-2.8.3.tar.gz

when the download is not working directly, please try it with

http://cytoscape.org/download.php

or

http://cytoscape.org/

----------------------------------------

Steps to reproduce:

1.Download Cytoscape from one of the links given above
2.Extract it.
3.start Cytoscape from terminal with

java -jar /...your directory.../cytoscape-2.8.3/cytoscape.jar

4.See the terminal output also given above.
5.See apport collecting a crash of tracker-miner during start of Cytoscape.
6Done.

This seems to happen only of the very first run of Cytoscape.

Unfortunally bugzilla do not allow me a reopening, which was suggested in comment 3 by Martyn Russell.

Could someone do.
Comment 9 Jürg Billeter 2012-10-07 05:53:39 UTC
The stack traces don't look related. Please file a new bug.
