Description schmirrwurst 2009-04-05 08:28:43 UTC
I can't use only program from gnome or kde, both have applications that can't be replaced.
So my problem is when I open a gnome application, I have a file picker with desktop shortcuts, and when I open a kde application, I have other file system shortcuts...
It is no nice for me, but for people that I try to convert to linux, is very difficult !

I found out freeedesktop have already released a specification for that http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/desktop-bookmark-spec
It would resolved that problem ! Is it planed to implement is in Gnome ?

This bookmark specification is used for the recent files.

I don't know if GTK+ people are planning to move ~/.gtk-bookmarks to such a format. Moving to GTK+.

Looks like a duplicate of 413076 or thereabouts (think we have several bugs currently open on the topic).
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2009-09-04 14:57:42 UTC
Yeah, the patch in bug 413076 would fix this bug, but bug 413076 is not really about this -- it would be some collateral feature :-)
