Description Tristian Celestin 2009-04-01 05:10:53 UTC
This is the address to an ogg stream of an online radio station:
http://stream.rainwave.cc:8000/stream.ogg

When the stream transitions from one song to the next, Banshee stops playing.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create radio station with above ogg stream as the Stream URL
2. Open rainwave.cc in a browser window. This will display the currently
streaming song as well.
3. Wait for the current streaming song to end.
4. Banshee will stop playing, while rainwave.cc shows that the station has moved on to the next song.

I have the same behaviour

Links

http://radio.hiof.no/nrk-mpetre-172.ogg

This station streams the names of the song/artist, and whenever the "song" changes banshee skips to my next radiostation.

If I cheat and set banshee to repeat the station, this works, but banshee skips the stream, aka have to buffer it again.

Hi there,
my first bug report ever: :-)

I can confirm that behaviour too.
When song changes banshee (1.5.0 on ubuntu 9.04) stops playing.

tested with stream: http://uni.fladi.at:8000/fm4-hq.ogg

tested also rythmbox an vlc with the same stream
rythmbox shows same behaviour, vlc works fine

This probably would get fixed by switching to playbin2, so I'm marking this as depending on the bug about the switch to playbin2.
Comment 5 Bertrand Lorentz 2010-03-11 19:43:43 UTC
Banshee 1.5.5 now uses playbin2.

I've played the 3 streams given above with the latest git master, and they don't stop or skip the stream on track change.

Sometimes there's a delay between tracks, as Banshee is buffering.
I have GStreamer 0.10.25 , so actual gapless is not enabled for me. Could someone with gapless enabled (GStreamer >= 0.10.26) check how it works with that ?
Comment 6 Bertrand Lorentz 2010-04-25 17:09:33 UTC
I tested some of those radios with GStreamer 0.10.28 and they play fine for me.
