GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 577377
Brightness/Contrast Causes Gimp to Crash
Last modified: 2009-04-23 21:27:35 UTC
After saving an xcf file, and re-opening it, opening Brightness/Contrast causes the Gimp to crash/non responsive and closes. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, set Gimp into compatibility mode, and no dice. This started happening after the installation of 2.6.6, I tried 2.6.5 and it works fine. Creating a new image and working with the brightness is OK, but if I open a saved xcf file, and try to adjust brightness, it crashes.
Hi! Do you mean it crashes or that it only becomes unresponsive? Can you attach the xcf please?
Created attachment 131793 [details] XCF File
Attached file ;] I'm using Vista, and when clicking the Brightness/Contrast tool, both Gimp windows become that silver fade and I get a dialog box saying Close Unresponsive Program. I can't wait it out, it asks me to close the program.
Comment on attachment 131793 [details] XCF File The Gimp becomes unresponsive and Vista only gives me the option to Close Program. I can't wait it out.

Another thing, I'm working with a new image, I've saved it a couple times as a psd and kept working on it, I then clicked the Brightness/Contrast tool and got the same problem. I'll be downgrading to gimp 2.6.5 in the meantime.
