This is also reported in Debian as:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=521862

Personally I've had to switch to Thunderbird while we all figure out WTF is happening with this...

Regards,
Andrew McMillan.

What version of SQLite are you using?
based on the thread 2:
  • #5 <signal handler called>
  • #6 unixCheckReservedLock
    at sqlite3.c line 23253

I bet for 3.16+, thus bug #575084 . Could you check please? Thanks in advance.

Yes, a day before reporting this bug I have updated libsqlite3-0 3.5.9-6 -> 3.6.11-2.
I have sqlite 3.6.12-1 now and evolution 2.24.5-3 (debian) and don't have this problem anymore.
Comment 10 Milan Crha 2009-04-20 10:09:33 UTC
Thanks for the update. The fix came to evolution-data-server, and is quite new. Maybe they backported it sooner in debian, I do not know. Nonetheless, marking as a duplicate.
