Description Marcin Orlowski 2001-07-17 17:17:57 UTC
It often miss the either "Pop up all windows to front" GIMP function that,
when invoked would reopen all the GIMP windows and push them to front on my
desktop (it often happens I 'iconify' all the windows on the desktop and
since GIMP users plenty of child windows, it takes some time to reopen them
back.

assigning to current CVS since this is a wishlist item
Comment 2 Sven Neumann 2003-03-16 20:54:43 UTC
IMO this is the job of the window manager. Since GIMP marks all its
window as belonging to the GIMP group, this can easily be done at the
WM level. Apart from that, the current user interface has a lot less
toplevel windows thanks to the use of docks. I suggest to close this
report as WONTFIX.
Comment 3 Raphaël Quinet 2003-03-18 09:13:22 UTC
If Marcin does not provide feedback before next week, I agree with
WONTFIX, although we could also mark this as a duplicate of bug #7379,
because a side effect of the WiW MDI model would be to easily show or
hide all windows.
Comment 4 Marcin Orlowski 2003-03-18 09:23:57 UTC
I agree that WM may be better place for this feature, however since I
don't see any usable that has such feature, I complained here. Neither
sawfish nor KDE's WM I used to use offer such feature. I also read bug
#7379 thread and do agree that MDI model would be a solution. To
summarize: I'd vote for anything that could give mentioned
functionality, but wouldn't hold my breath for WM to implement this in
this century.
Comment 5 Raphaël Quinet 2003-03-18 09:41:03 UTC
OK, thanks for the feedback. I will mark this bug as a duplicate, then.
Let's hope that a solution will be found before the next century...
