GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 575923
Error while Refreshing folder
Last modified: 2010-06-03 09:27:06 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have two IMAP accounts. (Use Ubuntu 8.10 - 64bit) Every now and then I get this error on the 2nd account (never seems to happen on the 1st): Error while Refreshing folder. I also sometimes get: Error while Storing folder 'INBOX'. In the console I get: evolution-mail-Message: Error occurred while existing dialogue active: Server unexpectedly disconnected: Operation now in progress I have deleted the account and all files and folders in .evolution I could find with the name of the account in them, but it does not solve the problem. I have also tried all the "force-shutdown" + file deletion suggestions I could find in the last 3 weeks on the web. What I end up doing is closing Evolution, using webmail and then after a day or two the Evolution works again. Strange. It will then work for a day or so and then the error is back. When I get the error I receive mail on the 1st account, I can also send mail on both accounts. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Evolution 2. Click on the inbox of the 2nd imap account Actual results: Error in the Status bar of Evolution + error in Console if evolution started in console Expected results: No error + get the latest email from my account Does this happen every time? Once it starts to happen it continues until the next day Other information: I logged this bug on https://bugs.launchpad.net, but they replied: thank you for your bug report, that's an upstream bug and should be sent to bugzilla.gnome.org by somebody having a buggy account to use who can reply to their questions
What's the full error message? In my case, I get: Error while Refreshing folder. Cannot write offline journal for folder 'INBOX': Resource temporarily unavailable I only have one IMAP account, and this error is intermittent. My IMAP server is dovecot.
This version is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. The current stable GNOME and Evolution version is 2.30. Can you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 2.28 or 2.30 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field? Thanks a lot. Again thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed for the version you originally used here. Without feedback this report will be closed as INCOMPLETE in 6 weeks.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME 2.30.0 or later, thanks.
