Description robert 2009-03-16 18:39:03 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed?
Evolution crashed immediately and without user input. It managed to display the list of my mail folders but didn't show the list of emails in inbox nor the last message as it would usually. The off-line symbol is shown in the corner. The crash happens each time I run Evolution.

Comment 1 Akhil Laddha 2009-03-17 03:59:54 UTC
did you upgrade from 2.22.x ? Crash could be due to mail notification plugin.

If you can install glib2, gtk2, orbit2 and dbus debug info packages and provide us better traces, it will be great, thanks.

Comment 2 robert 2009-03-17 22:09:01 UTC
Okay, Evolutions will crash whenever /usr/bin/mail-notification runs and will appear to work fine otherwise. Starting mail-notification after Evolution will promptly crash Evolution as well. I did upgrade from 2.22.x recently, but I think the problem didn't ocurr until later. I seem to have some debug info packages installed already and added one for dbus and some others that are probably unrelated. But it's not clear to me what other packages my distribution might provide that will be helpful here. Below is a trace that looks much like the first one, it was obtained by prompting a crash by running mail-notification after Evolution.

The trace is still not helpful, and "liborg-jylefort-mail-notification.so" is also interesting...
