Description Sam Morris 2009-03-16 14:44:48 UTC
I hooked up an external monitor to my laptop and then closed the lid. The laptop then locked the screen.

I would like an option to tell gnome-power-manager not to blank/suspend/hibernate when the lid is closed if there is an external display connected.
Comment 1 Richard Hughes 2009-03-16 14:54:29 UTC
Can't you just change "When laptop lid closed on AC" = do nothing?
Comment 2 fussel 2009-11-11 17:47:20 UTC
This would be a nice feature for gnome-power-manager. Because, if the Laptop is on Battery, and using an external monitor or beamer, it is really annoying to deactivate the suspend-function every time.

Sam, Fussel, please reopen this bug if the configuration suggested in comment #1 does not work. Thanks in advance!
Comment 4 Sam Morris 2010-03-29 20:00:39 UTC
The configuration in comment 1 does not do what I want. I *do* want the screen to be locked if I close the lid, but *not* if there is an external monitor connected.
