Description fliebau 2009-03-14 06:58:31 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Using opensuse 11.1 on a LG X110 netbook. The UMTS connectivity is via an inbuilt Ericsson F3507G modem. The modem is configured in Yast. Network manager does not find the modem and there seems to be no way to make it use it.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?

Other information:
The X 110 and similar netbooks like the MSI Wind rely on that Ericsson chip for mobile broadband access. It seems that workarounds exist for the problem, but they involve much fiddling and are not suitable for most users.

Any links to the workarounds you mention?
"configured with Yast" is a bit vague - exact settings in order to reproduce would help (and I don't know Yast, it's a suse specific application).
Which exact NetworkManager version is this?
