Description Nick Welch 2009-03-10 06:28:13 UTC
There should really be no reason to have the compositor enabled while showing fullscreen video; XFCE I believe has a feature to automatically disable its compositor when showing a fullscreen window. Almost anything would be better than having to open a terminal and run

gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false

everytime I want to watch a movie.

Not using a compositor for fullscreen windows is basically what bug 518712 is about (but the title of the bug doesn't reflect this, so no wonder if you missed it).
