Description Gilles Dartiguelongue 2009-02-28 11:06:41 UTC
Not sure if it's a g-s-d or libxklavier bug but we have this downstream bug:

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256016

Basically, g-s-d crashes on startup if keyboard managment plugins are activated and if using libxklavier-3.8. Unfortunately, we don't have a backtrace because even though it seems reproducable on some setups, it doesn't appear to be on any. Maybe this was already reported and I missed it in my searches.

Since there's no info whatsoever in that bug, there's not a lot we can do without a stacktrace.
Comment 2 Gilles Dartiguelongue 2009-04-04 21:01:42 UTC
it appears the issue was that stable gentoo users were still blocked at xorg-server-1.3 and libs that came with this release (7.2 iirc). Upgrading to 1.5 seems to solve the issue for everyone.
Comment 3 Jens Granseuer 2009-04-05 08:55:39 UTC
So it's probably bug 562977 you've been having there.
