Description bigbrovar 2009-02-21 17:53:56 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Lagos state is added twice, first as Lagos, then as Ikeja (which is actually a a city inside Lagos) the Lagos entry is very Valid. because it has ikeja as a sub city which is the way it should be (ikeja is the capital of Lagos State). The Ikeja Entry is very wrong. as i said Ikeja is a city under Lagos and not the other way round.

Also Abuja the Federal Capital is very missing it as a population of about a million people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abuja and should be among the list

Steps to reproduce:
1. when you start the gnome weather applet
2.
3.

Actual results:
when you try to select cities in Nigeria

Expected results:
I would expect Abuja The Capital of Nigeria to be among the listed Cities. and Ikeja is not a Valid city.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
I as able to add abuja by patching /usr/share/libgweather/Locations.xml and adding the following

<city><name>Abuja</name><coordinates>9.0066666667 7.2630555556</coordinates><location><name>Abuja</name><code>DNAA</code><coordinates>9.0066666667 7.2630555556</coordinates></location></city>

Abuja was added quite time ago in 3fa46d017ce6829d36f8edaaeb0656dae46fa77e
Keep the bug open to fix the Ikeja issue

I've added Lagos as an independent city, with the same airport as Ikeja, and renamed the airport that's simply listed "Ikeja".

If that's not correct, please reopen the bug.

locations: Add Lagos as a separate city

Even though Ikeja is the capital city, it's also part of the Lagos
Metropolitan Area. The distinction is blurry between Lagos, the city,
    and Lagos, the Metropolitan Area.

And that's not even talking about the fact that Lagos and Ikeja are also
    within Lagos state.
