Playing a stream like http://wstreaming.zdf.de/zdf/veryhigh/090124_nachtstudio_nst.asx and switching to another position makes totem to start the stream again. A workaround could be to forbid seeking by disable the slider for streams until a solution has been found.
Seeking in the stream which i mentioned works fine with VLC.
