Description Colin Scott 2009-02-15 19:18:13 UTC
The Accounts list page has options for displaying a series of figures for each account on the list. Headings include Present, Balance, Cleared Balance, Reconciled Balance, Future Minimum, and Total, and there are By Period and By Currency options for some of these. (The significance of the "Present" figure is unclear).

All of these figures except "Total" seem to relate to the individual account they are shown against, although "Total" seems to be the nett balance of that account and all of its children.

In many cases (eg - where a series of discrete funds are held in a single bank account) it would be very helpful to be able to show nett figures for each entire family of sub-accounts, as well as the figures for each individual account. It would therefore seem sensible to remove the "Total" option (which appears in any case to be a nett balance), and replace it with options to show, against accounts with children, nett figures for Balance, Cleared Balance, Reconciled Balance, and Future Minimum (presumably with the same By Period and By Currency options as are presently available).
