GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 571798
Icons of QT applications don't paint the background
Last modified: 2020-11-06 20:21:16 UTC
Please describe the problem: When a QT application has an icon in the notification area, and the icon has transparent areas, these areas are not repainted at all. Over time, these areas will contain pieces from other icons or black boxes. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start a GTK-based application that has a notification icon, for example Transmission or Pidgin 2. Start some QT applications, for example Skype or KeePassX 3. Now the notification area should have QT icons on the left and GTK icons on the right (see normal.png) 4. Right click and close a GTK-based application so that all QT icons on the left will shift to the right. Actual results: The QT icons are all messed up, see mess.png Expected results: The background of the icons should be re-painted as for the GTK icons. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Another way to reproduce this is to start some QT apps as in #2 and then launch a game that enters a full-screen mode, for example Warcraft III. After quitting the game, the background of QT icons is black (see black.png). GTK icons are painted as expected. Let me know if you need additional information.
