GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 571291
Unicode 5.1 support in pango - Indic Lanuages
Last modified: 2009-03-26 05:05:09 UTC
There are few characters added to Indic codespace in Unicode 5.1. They are currently not handled according to their properties/script mechanism. Thus there needs support for these characters to be added to pango for proper rendering. List of these characters can be found here: http://rahulpmb.blogspot.com/2008/04/unicode-5.html
Created attachment 128459 [details] [review] Patch for assigning class values to new characters All the newly added characters in Unicode 5.1 are added and assigned appropriate class values in this patch according to their properties and behaviour. Please let me know if any further information is needed.
Created attachment 130005 [details] [review] Minor change to previous patch Just a minor change to my previous patch. Not much difference functionally, just a clean up.
Behdad, any idea when we can have this committed? This is related to the new characters and thus there are not much chances of anything previous being broken. This is a pretty much simple and straight forward patch that I think can be incorporated without much worries. I have done my bit of testing. Please check it once yourself for any inconsistencies.
