Description Vincent Danjean 2009-02-10 17:29:22 UTC
It would be very convenient if gnucash allows to bookmark the reports.
I mean that when I create some reports, I would like to 'memorize' all the settings/options of this report to be able to open/recreate it latter.
For now, I've the choice to
- either close the report and recreate it latter
- or let it opened all the time. (This means that this report will be recalculated each time I open gnucash. It can be long if I have several complex reports)

Being able to 'store' the setting of a report and to reopen/recreate it latter would be very interesting.

  Regards,
    Vincent

In fact this is possible, but it's not called "Bookmarks" but "Custom Reports".

The method is currently a bit awkward, but here is how you can use them:
1. Create a report, and modify all the options you like. Be sure to change its name, otherwise you won't be able to save the report.
2. If the result is to your liking, you can choose File->Add Report.

This will save the report to the Reports->Custom menu.

Note that there is room for improvement in this area. There are several other bugs and enhancement requests still pending. But your basic idea is already possible.
